Newcomer Orientation

Cancer Support Community / Get Support  / Programs / Newcomer Orientation

Welcome to Cancer Support Community

This informal session is the first step for all cancer patients and caregivers who are interested in joining one of our support groups. It provides an opportunity for individuals with cancer, family members and friends to learn more about Cancer Support Community and the programs and services we offer. These weekly meetings, led by cancer survivors who have participated in their own fight for recovery, offer newcomers a chance to explore these various methods used to fight for recovery, maintain hope and improve the quality of their lives. The Newcomer Orientation also offers participants the opportunity to share stories with other cancer patients, their families and cancer survivors – or just listen. Friends/family are also invited.

Until we can safely greet you in person, we are conducting our Newcomer Orientations for new members virtually over Zoom every Wednesday at 10am, or by appointment.  During these meetings, you will meet another cancer survivor, learn about our program offerings, and review any questions pertaining to your involvement with our supportive community.

To get started, please complete our Annual Visitor Form to tell us a little about yourself (all information is kept strictly confidential).  You may email it back to [email protected] to start the process so that we may register you for the next orientation.
