In our Spotlight feature, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about CSCGLV staff, Board of Directors, Ambassadors of Hope, partners, volunteers and more as we bring our community closer together. First up is the CSCGLV Executive Director!
Gina L. Stano Executive Director, CSCGLV since August 2023
My 25+ career has been spent with a variety of local and national non-profit organizations in the Lehigh Valley. The mission and values of the organizations are what inspire me every day and keep me motivated. Most often, the cause is also near and dear to my heart.
What made you want to work with CSCGLV and become an employee? My maternal grandmother passed away from breast cancer when I was 16 years old. As an adult I learned that she never had a mammogram. Fast forward 24 years, and my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her second diagnosis followed a year later. Early detection was key! My mom is a 2x breast cancer survivor…she is 8 years (almost 9!) out from her first diagnosis and 7 years out from her second. What led me to CSCGLV was a way to give back to the organization and community that was there for my mom — she visited the Wig Salon at CSCGLV for a free wig during chemotherapy — giving her the opportunity to feel good about attending some family commitments during treatment.
What do you like to do in your spare time? I spend as much time as possible with my family. I can often be found at brunch or visiting a local winery, enjoying a charcuterie board with my closest friends. Barre3 classes and reading a good book are also a few of my favorite things!
